Abstract
A thermoluminescent date was obtained for the Jemaa Head, found in the course of alluvial Sn mining in the outlying hills tothe south-west of the Jos Plateau. A total radiation dosage for alpha radiation, beta radiation from U and Th, and beta radiation from K<sup>40</sup> from the Head's clay and gamma radiation from U and Th, gamma radiation from K<sup>40</sup> and cosmic rays for the alluvium was calc. as 660 ± 33 mrad/year. The thermoluminescent curve was interpreted between 345°-375° C as indicating a naturally accumulated dose of 1640 ± 53 rad. The calc. est. age is 2480 ± 220 years. -- AATA
