Abstract
A vacuum envelope can be formed between a sheet of linoleum and a polyethylene film. Since both these materials are available in very large sizes, inexpensively, vacuum lining of large paintings can be effected. A step-by-step description of the lining of a painting 3 by 4 meters is given.
