Abstract
Sand-painting made by Navajos at Horniman Museum, London in 1966 on a rigid platform was consolidated by spraying with a mist consisting of PVA emulsion 1 part and distilled water 3 parts. Sand was keyed to wooden base by a plastic emulsion before the sand-painting was made. -- AATA
