Contains information on the properties of a new pulping process TMP (thermomechanical pulp) and technical information that may be of assistance in treating modern archival materials. A new 600-ton/day tandem TMP plant and new supercalendered magazine paper machine are described. The following areas of operation are discussed: a) TMP fumish in supercalendered magazine paper, b) the new tandem TMP plant, c) pulp properties. d) bleaching of TMP to high brightness, and e) paper machine drying steam obtained from the TMP process through a heat exchanger. -- AATA
