Abstract
Describes the computer programs PEAKSCAN and LONGTERM, used to locate gamma-ray photopeaks in neutron-activated materials and determine the abundances of neutron-activated chemical elements. PEAKSCAN has been used to examine over 1500 gamma ray spectra. LONGTERM has been used to resolve over 1000 of these into their constituent elemental compositions. The lithic analysis program has been divided into three phases: obsidian analysis, analysis of cherts from Colorado and Wyoming, and analysis of cherts from the lower Illinois River Valley.
