Abstract
The prehistoric pottery (circa 1000-1600 AD) of Hohokam, Mongollon, and Anasazi cultures in the southwestern United States is discussed in connection with the exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Techniques of refining clay, building pots, applying decoration, and fuing are compared to present day techniques used by descendants. -- AATA
