Abstract
An exhaustive description of nuclear methods for testing deterioration of paper documents is reported. Betagraphy for detection of watermarks is also illustrated; in particular a diagram thickness measurement - time exposure is suggested, in order to obtain the highest contrast between watermark and paper, very rapidly and with good accuracy.
