Traces the history of glassmaking in India, which fluorished with the advent of the Muslims. Stratified bangles found at Kolhapur and other centers of Decean are examples of glasswares of Bahmi period during 1435-1518 AD. During Mughal period a large variety of glass vessels was manufactured. Gilt and enameled glass are also known from this period. Glazing of pottery and tiles of this period shows Persian influence. An attempt has been made to summarize the technique of preparation of glass objects of that time, based on the information now available from the local workers of various sites. -- AATA
