The following compilation covers most of the available literature that deals specifically with the textiles used to furnish a bed in the 18th century America. In addition some references are included on the history of the bed as a furniture form, especially during the decades preceding and post-dating the 18th century. This bibliography was a course requirement for the Furniture Conservation Training Program, Smithsonian Institution.
