Abstract
The title process includes mechanical cleaning, washing with an aqueous solution of ethylene oxide-fatty alcohol, softening in 80% ethanol, drying, smoothing, and impregnating with a PhMe (toulene?) solution of C<sub>10-16</sub> alkyl laurate or myristate. The treatment imparts smoothness, flexibility, and resistance to wetting and soiling, without affecting the colors, in parchment. -- AATA
