Abstract
Research on the removal of iron staples from ceramics has led to a method now regularly used: a slight polarization followed by a gaseous emanation on the surface of the staple enables it to be freed from its corrosion products and from any filling material. The treated area is limited to the immediate vicinity of the staple. The absence of mechanical methods reduces the risks of flaking, cracking, scratches and breakage. The staple is conserved and stabilized. -- AATA
