Straub discusses the properties of a good retouching medium;, commonly used retouching mediums are reviewed. Possible synthetic resins are proposed, possible solvents discussed and the resins AW2 and MS2A are chosen as superior. Petroleum hydrocarbons are considered the best solvents.
