This article criticizes the conclusions of Genard (197). Genard is criticized for not including information on the absolute energy or even the relative energy of the UV radiation compared to visble light. Furthermore, the author argues that there is no evidence nor does Genard provide any evidence the UV radiation of 280-310 nm is especially damaging, nor that fluorescent bulbs cause appreciably greater deterioration than other sources of illumination.
