The Dinaric long-house is of major cultural significance for the history of folk housing construction. In such houses the patriarchal spirit was developed. Only such qualities that an authority figure as a model head of household had could keep together large family groups. By its geographical diffusion and time framework, the Dinaric house surpasses its rural and regional boundaries and acquires the importance of a real national-type house. By the special features of its architecture just as the Greek <i>megaron</i>, this structure enriches the heritage of the world's housing culture, but it has unfortunately been forgotten as a contribution to its variety. -- AATA
