Abstract
The materials studied were a series of crucifixes, apparently made of brass but of diverse types, originally from the Congo, south of the river (Zaire-Angola frontier region). The objectives were to: determine the techniques of fabrication and of materials; To establish the origin of the pieces by metallographic examination. Outline of the study: preparation-contacts and investigations; Classification of the pieces; Examination and description of each piece; Photographing the ensemble and detail; Investigation; Metallographic investigations; reconstitution.
