Anomalous fading' of the TL of the common mineral of volcanic rocks, plagioclase feldspar, is a problem for dating lavas. Experiments have shown that high-temperature TL emission is not affected by this problem or by thermal fading, and can be used for dating volcanic flows from 300,000-3,000 years BP. -- AATA
