The nine broad areas (including protection and conservation of the European Cultural Heritage) in the STEP program, which funds research projects up to 36 months in: provision of scientific and technical support for policies on environment, energy, agriculture, industry, aid to developing countries; improvement of productivity in research; promotion of quality in environmental research.
