The surface finishing of Army Ordnance material has undergone some marked improvements within the past couple of years. Greater consideration has been given to the necessity for proper metal preparation and painting. The layman considers ordnance material as expendable, hence not requiring any unusual protection and in any case not involving any more than the usual problem of metal finishing.
