Abstract
The use of spray-on oven cleaner for removing black anodizing from aluminum gun parts is described: spraying, letting the caustic preparation remain in place for three to five minutes, and lightly rubbing off with fine steel wool and water. (Abstractor's note: While oven cleaner preparations carry cautions for use, none are mentioned in the report but should be observed since most commercial oven cleaners are strong bases (sodium hydroxide?).) -- AATA
