Abstract
A small cylindrical shaft fumace is described. A limited analysis of Fe and Mn indicates that iron was smelted, perhaps from bog ore. The site was occupied in Neolithic times or the Early Bronze Age, but the furnace is more recent, and could have been used from post-Roman times to the 14th century. More precise dating is not possible. -- AATA
