This news article describes two bronze statues dated to the 5th century B. C. found in 25 feel of seawater off the east coast of the toe of Italy. Over the course of five years they were gamma-radiographed, analyzed for elements using atomic absorption spectroscopy, treated for chloride corrosion (bronze disease), and cleaned.
