A series of five short articles on the above subject which form this publication were originally prepared as handouts for ITMA 1979 on request from the industry. These articles summarise briefly the background, relevance, yarn engineering, felting kinetics, and production routes of felted yarns and performance of carpets made from them. The articles outline the present status of solvent yarn felting and indicate ways in which felted yarns in carpets may be advantageous. The pamphlets can be used alone as information units on specific aspects, or in conjunction with other articles to provide short but comprehensive information on the whole subject.
