This report describes a series of processing trials in which the effects of normal and high-density baling on the processing of scoured wool were investigated. Baling adversely affecting topmaking performance but bale density and regain at the time of pressing had little effect. Improvements in noilage and top length were achieved when baled wool was opened and conditioned prior to carding.
