Abstract
Analysis of the function and distribution of masontry marks in buildings of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem. Argues that the masonry marks are the personal marks of the masons concerned rather than assembly marks. Compares the known masonry marks in 12 Crusader buildings in or near Jerusalem by means of a similarity matrix and close proximity analysis, and explores the potential value of the method for clarifying building history and relative chronology. -- AATA
