Abstract
Forty-five specimens of Jomon pottery excavated in Kumamoto prefecture were examined for the presence of plant opals of Miscanthus Sinensis, Phragmites commnis, Bambuseae, etc., and these were detected in most of them. In one sherd motor cells of Oryza sativa was detected, indicating that some type of rice culture was present. -- AATA
