Abstract
Results of research on temperature dispersion and absorption of the piezoelectric modulus of wood were as follows: There are 3 piezoelectric absorptions, one at about -110 degrees C (20 Hz) and -100 degrees C (100Hz), a second at about -35 degrees C (20 Hz) and -25 degrees C (100 Hz),and a third at about 125 degrees C (20 Hz) and 140 degrees C (100 Hz). The values of the apparent activation energy are 10, 23 and 40 kcal/mol respectively from the lower temperature side. Piezoelectric absorption at about -100 degrees C is equivalent to the dielectric absorption reported by Norimoto, Tsutsumi and Mikhailov, and absorption at about -30 degrees C is equivalent to the viscoelastic absorption reported by Bernier, Mizumachi and Kitahara.
