Measurement of the air temperature inside monuments has determined the main factors in deterioration due to hygrometric variations -- the sun's rays, artificial lighting, air conditioning and heating or ventilation systems, a large number of visitors and capillary flow. The installation of insulation and protection systems and instruments for continuous measurement of climatic conditions can aid in slowing down this process.
