Abstract
The Van Eyck technique, the samples taken from the polyptych <i>The Mystic Lamb</i> (Ghent) and P. Coreman's <i>L'Agneau Mystique au laboratoire</i> (1953) are reconsidered in an historical and technical context, checked with experimental samples prepared by a painter. The present article is the first one of a series to come.
