Abstract
Water table lowering by drainage, pumping, or other causes can have drastic adverse effects on structures and sites. Wood piles can rot, buildings can sink. Flooding can occur. Methods are available to prevent dewatering during and after construction and to halt or decrease the rate of surface subsidence. Avoid damage to nearby buildings. Reverse drainage brings rainwater to recharge the groundwater table.
