This article is part of a series intended to document existing traditional conservation techniques. Methods described are inspection, relaxing, use of blotting paper or filler paper for inks liable to bleed, use of polythene terylene, and repair paper, minor repairs, framing, use of silk, backing of fragments, drying, sizing and trimming.
