This article is primarily concerned with the discovery, excavation and identification of three 1600 year old balanghais, ancient outrigger-canoe type boats, found underwater near the Philippine island of Mindanao. There is a brief description of their conservation treatment with PEG (polyethylene glycol). -- AATA
