Abstract
The excavation of a Hallstatt-period site in southern Germany is reported. One pit was filled with burnt stones, fragments of crucibles, and remains of bronze objects. Archaeological evidence suggests that clay was taken out of the pits, which were later filled with remains of furnaces used for casting or smithing. -- AATA
