Abstract
Radiocarbon dates of inclusions in copper ingots found in the North Sea provide evidence of copper mining in that area. Analysis of stone inclusions in the ingots prove that they were cast on Heligoland itself. Veins of copper have been found in the sandstone of the island. A comparison between trace elements found in the ores and the ingots proves that the copper was extracted from Heligoland ores. -- AATA
