Abstract
Numerous prehistoric sites where melting of copper ore took place can be found in Austria. At one site, the Johnsbachtal-Steiermark, the technique of melting copper ores can be reconstructed from archaeological finds. Several types of slags indicate a metallurgical process of melting of more than one step. -- AATA
