Abstract
It was shown that the addition of zinc carbonate to exterior emulsion paint improved resistance to mold growth and chalking, but induced yellowing. Zinc oxide, in contrast, tended to increase chalking rather than yellowing. A suitable pigment composition of zinc oxide, zinc carbonate, and titanium dioxide is suggested. -- AATA
