The mechanism of photo-aging of poly(vinylbutyral) has been investigated. The quantum yields of photochemical reactions of the radicals are determined. Cross-linking of the polymer is a result of photodissociation of radicals. The relative contributions of decomposition and cross-linking depend on the spectral composition of the light and temperature of radiation. -- AATA
