A method of comparative investigation of inks used in the documents is described. Photometric tests on the document can yield data on the quantitative composition of the inks used. This method, used by the Forensic Laboratory of the Netherlands Department of Justice, means an extension of the usual gamma of chemical, chromatographic and spectrophotometric methods, the relative merits of which are discussed in the paper. -- AATA
