Abstract
Cotton fabric was subjected to thermal treatment for durations ranging from 0.5 to 5 minutes at temperatures from 160 to 220°C. The copper number (aldehyde content), carboxyl content, degree of polymerization, dye uptake, and tensile strength of the treated fabric were then studied and related to physical and/or chemical changes in the cellulose stracture. -- AATA
