A compton-suppressed coincidence gamma-ray scintillation spectrometer has been assembled to obtain high sensitivity and selectivity in gamma-ray spectral measurements. The spectrometer is similar in concept to an earlier design but certain changes have been incorporated in the present design in order to: 1) eliminate deficiencies believed to exist in the earlier design, 2) satisfy particular requirements of the intended application, and 3) take advantage of recent improvements in the design and production of the various commercially available components.
