Abstract
The pottery produced at Puebla, Mexico, talavera, derives its shapes, decorative motifs and glazing techniques from that formerly produced at Talavera de la Reina, Spain; the lively color and manual ability are typical of the Mexican native tradition. This pottery achieved its highest level from 1650 to 1750; production began to decline from 1860. -- AATA
