Abstract
Evolution of storage techniques of H. Armstrong Roberts photographic agency, Philadelphia, is described. The firm, a family business dating to 1920, first tried kraft envelopes for negative storage which is termed a disaster. Glassine bags with a 1/2-inch glue seam was tried next with some problems due to pressure marks because of the quantity of plates stored. Currently used are heat-sealed envelopes from Wooster Envelope in Massachusetts (No. 3525.) Doubleweight polycontrast glossy paper is in use for prints and has been used for the past 15 years. Some prints made in the 1920's still are in use by the firm, and in good condition. -- AATA
