The original apparatus has been described elsewhere. The present apparatus had to be adapted for the repair of particularly heavy 15th and 16th century Spanish altarpieces. It consists of two robust wood tables with both fixed and movable wooden beams and also metal clamps on top,designed to keep the panel flat and its members in position during treatment.
