Abstract
The author advises small museums on inexpensive ways of dealing with preventive conservation. Three potentially expensive measures are singled out for discussion -- control of visible light and ultraviolet radiation, the use of acid-free materials, and environmental controls. The reasons for using these measures are explained, as well as their appropriate applications. Readers are cautioned against expensive solutions where economical ones would be satis factory, and examples of the latter are outlined. -- AATA
