Abstract

Reports on the consolidation of ancient human and animal bones by the radiochemical method. The combination of bones with vinyl acetate or methyl methacrylate seems to considerably improve the strength of bones, even if they are in advanced deterioration, without major changes of their appearance. Alterations or distortions have not been observed after the treatment.
