Abstract
The basic information on techniques and materials used in Japanese painting includes ink sticks, ink stones, brushes for painting, paper and silk supports, glue media, pigments, gold and silver leafs, etc. This information is presented to conservators to help them understand the differences between European and Japanese painting. Some techniques are demonstrated.
