Abstract
Development of liquid-crystal copolymers promises a new class of materials with strength exceeding that of conventional reinforced thermoplastics. The first such material reported was a copolymer of polyethylene terephthalate and para-hydroxy benzoic acid. Mechanical properties of this material are compared to glass-reinforced materials. -- AATA
