Abstract
The restoration of the Punic Ditch at Tharros was based on the hypothesis that it is necessary to neutralize the causes of damages to monuments rather than just repair their effects. It was proposed that the conservation circumscribe the factors which cause deterioration, and that maintenance operations be instituted as rapidly as possible. See also AATA 19-1792.
