Abstract
The Minister of Culture of the USSR organized a small restoration exhibition in the summer of 1980, for the cultural program of the 1980 Olympic Games. This exhibition reunited 60 Russian paintings and displayed modern scientific methods for restoration of icons. Physical, chemical, and biological studies of the wood supports were made.
