Visual comparison of varve plots cannot be used for transatlantic cross-dating, but other parameters can be found that make possible some correlation. The author's main Canadian series was correlated with two other Canadian series and with the Swedish varve chronology, the date correspondences being given. Mention is made of other Scandinavian and North American varve series. To extend these teleconnections, microanalysis of varve will be necessary. The author suggests analyzingthe variation within varves by x-ray densitometry. -- AATA
