Abstract
The author has made a study of the known engravings, both bound and loose. Based on Audubon's writings as well as her own analysis, the author has assessed the typical conservation problems of the paper, the images and the bindings. She relates her treatments of both bound volumes and loose plates and ends with a cataloguing recommendation to owners to insure greater security for these valuable works.
